Borderlands 3 is coming to both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5!

As a refresher, Borderlands 3 has been optimized for next-gen, running at 60 frames per second and4K resolution in single-player. So we’re not talking backwards compatibility – we’re talking about a true next-gen upgrade.

The team at Gearbox are also carrying the franchise’s legacy for great co-op support into the next generation with two new local co-op features: four-player split-screen for the first time ever, plus the option to divide the screen horizontally OR vertically in two-player co-op. (Those who are playing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will also have access to vertical split screen, via a free patch.)

Players who already own Borderlands 3 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will receive free upgrades to the next-gen versions on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, respectively. Players will be able to bring everything over to the new consoles with the free upgrade, including all purchased content, as well as saves.

Again, we’ll have more details to share very soon about our next-gen launch date and plans, but for the time being, we’d love to confirm we can get Borderlands 3 added to your next-gen games round-up.
